Iraq e-Visa
Visit visas for Iraq are issued online through the Ministry of Interior’s official platform, the single portal for all of Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region.
What you need
- For many nationalities visa on arrival ended in March 2025, so apply a few days before you travel.
- Iraqi health insurance is required and is bought on the same platform with your application.
- You need a valid passport, a digital photo and an email address; fees are paid online.
- The visa arrives by email. Print it and show it on arrival.
How to apply
- Go to the official platform, evisa.iq, and create an account with your email.
- Choose the visit/tourist visa and fill in your details exactly as in your passport.
- Upload your passport data page and a recent photo on a light background.
- Buy the Iraqi health insurance on the same platform; it is required for the visa.
- Pay the fee online by card.
- Wait for the visa to arrive by email, then print it and carry it on arrival.

- Rules, fees and processing times depend on your nationality; the official platform is the final word.
- Apply several days before you travel and do not count on a visa on arrival.
- Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your entry date.
